3,200,000 Year Old Skeleton — "Lucy"Found in modern-day Ethiopia in 1974. Lucy is an adult female Australopithecus afarensis — around 40% of a skeleton, about 1.1 metres tall, dated to 3.2 million years ago.The famous juvenile from the same region is a different fossil: Selam, sometimes called "Lucy's baby", found at Dikika in 2000, about three years old at death and slightly older at roughly 3.3 million years.
